The inspiration behind Everything’s Gonna Be Alright

Rainbow Star

The song “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” is about my parents and it begins with a dream I had as a young girl after the death of my mother.  I didn’t technically have inspiration for this song because I didn’t have a plan on what I was going to write when I started.  It was given to me as a healing gift from God.  I originally had a recording of the guitar chords for a melody that wasn’t working for the song “Are You There” and thought I could use the chords for something else.  I started humming a melody and it turned into “look at the stars” then “look at my star” and I began to sing “momma I see your star” and began to cry because I realized it was a song about her!  The first verse and chorus immediately came to me and it felt complete.  I thanked God for the peace and healing that washed over me!  However, I still needed a second verse and a bridge.  I prayed to God and asked for it…what else does He want me to know?  He gave the second verse to me immediately about my father.  Wow…  I then began to write the bridge about how I feel about them.  The song was complete.  I took it to Nathan, my producer and recorded it.  This was the first song I wrote on the EP “A Divine Mess”.

God is Awesome isn’t He?

What amazing gifts has God given you?  I would LOVE to hear about it!  Maybe your story will inspire a song too!

Take care & God bless,
